How to measure Reveal Fit - To fit inside the recess/opening:

• Measure the width in three places (top, center, and bottom).
• Use the smallest width and Deduct 10mm (5mm on each side) for clearance.
• Measure the height/drop and Deduct 10mm for clearance at the top.

Note: Minimum recess depth required for fitting the blind in the window frame is 35mm

You need to deduct to allow for clearance as above, Flooring Store do not make any deductions

How to measure Face Fix - To fit over or outside the opening (two methods - choose the best for your space):

Method 1

• Measure the window width and add 100mm (50mm on each side).
• Measure the height and add 100mm to avoid drilling into the lintel and another 100mm to clear the sill. Note: A protruding sill may impact blind movement.

Method 2:

• Measure the area you want the blind to cover, keep in mind clearing the lintel at the top.
• Bottom overlap is optional. If there’s a protruding sill, consider stopping the blind at the sill.

Blinds with Cut Outs

In South Africa, kitchen and bathroom windows are often partially tiled, or doorways may have skirtings at the bottom. For these situations, always specify the measurements in Width x Drop (Width first, then Height/Drop) in millimeters:

• Measure the Width / thickness of the tile or skirting and add 5mm to the Width to ensure the blind clears the edges.
• Measure the height of the tiles or skirting and add 5mm to the Height/Drop to ensure the blind clears the height.

Provide the specified Width x Height in millimeters when ordering blinds with cut-outs. Typically, the right and left cut-outs are the same, but separate input spaces are provided in case the measurements differ.

Tips for Measuring Venetian Blinds

1. 1. Use the Right Measuring Tools, Steel or Laser.  Avoid material or plastic
   2. Measure in Millimeters (mm) for precision, its the industry standard
   3. Double-Check Measurements to ensure accuracy and avoid mistakes
   4. Check for Obstacles
      • Inside Mount: Look for handles, locks, or uneven window frames that might interfere with the blind.
      • Outside Mount: Ensure there’s a flat surface to mount the brackets and room for full blind operation.
