When to Use TAL Profix Plus LVT
TAL Profix Plus LVT is a solvent-free, high-strength modified acrylic adhesive specifically developed for the installation of LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tiles) and PVC-backed vinyl tiles. It is designed for wet lay installations — the floor covering is placed directly into the wet adhesive without any flash-off period. Once set, the rigid glue line inhibits lateral shear movement on the LVT planks, reducing the possibility of gapping between planks over time.
Suitable for application onto concrete, screed, toppings, underlayment compounds, render and wood.
Important: This product is for LVT and PVC-backed vinyl tiles only. For standard vinyl tiles, carpet tiles and needlepunch carpeting, use TAL Profix or TAL Profix Plus.
Pack Contents & Coverage
Supplied in a 5 litre plastic container.
- 1.5mm serrated trowel: ±6.0m² per litre — ±30m² per container
- New short-pile mohair paint roller: ±7.0m² per litre — ±35m² per container
Actual coverage depends on site conditions and workmanship.
Application
Allow the LVT to acclimatise in the installation area for a minimum of 48 hours. The substrate must be sound, smooth, clean and dry, with a moisture content of 3% or less — where moisture exceeds this, apply TAL VaporStop HB followed by TAL Screedmaster or TAL Superscreed SL before applying this adhesive. Prime very porous surfaces with TAL Floor Primer.
Shake the container well before use and do not dilute. Apply using a 1.5mm serrated trowel or a new short-pile mohair paint roller. Place the LVT immediately while the adhesive is still wet — do not allow the adhesive to dry before laying, as it does not remain tacky once dry and bond will be impaired. Allow 2 hours before light foot traffic, 12–24 hours before full-service conditions, and 72 hours before any wet cleaning.
Storage & Shelf Life
6 months from date of manufacture when stored in dry internal conditions between 10°C and 25°C, out of direct sunlight. Never store directly on a concrete floor. Keep containers tightly sealed when not in use.
Health & Safety
For use by experienced installers. Solvent-free formula — work in well-ventilated areas. Do not ingest. Wear gloves and eye protection. Clean tools with warm soapy water before the product dries; dried adhesive requires TAL Cleaning Solvent. Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet before use. Keep out of reach of children.
