Belgotex Berber Point 920 – Plain Back Carpet Tile

1. Product-Specific Fitting Instructions

Each flooring product has unique fitting instructions due to differences in installation methods and materials.

• Study Instructions: Read and follow the specific guide for your chosen flooring to prevent damage during installation.
• Unique Systems: Click-lock, glue-down, expansion gaps, and subfloor preparation all vary by product.
• Preventing Damage: Incorrect fitting can lead to buckling, lifting, or damaged edges — and may void your warranty.

2. Essential Add-ons for Warranty Validity

• Laminate Flooring: Requires a DPM (Damp Proof Membrane) and suitable underlay.
• SPC/Vinyl Flooring: Almost always requires a DPM, especially in moisture-prone areas.
• Carpets: Quality underlay is essential for comfort, durability, and pile maintenance.
• Engineered Wood/Bamboo: May require a DPM and/or specific underlay depending on subfloor and installation method.
• Always Check: Refer to the product's specific installation guide for mandatory accessories.

3. Necessary Accessories

• Adhesives/Glues: Specific glues required for glue-down installations.
• Profiles & Trims: Essential for neat transitions between flooring types or at doorways.
• Skirtings & Quarter Rounds: Cover expansion gaps along walls.
• Subfloor Prep: Must be clean, dry, level, and sound — levelling compounds may be needed.

1. Measuring in Square Meters (m²)

For most plank, tile, and carpet tile products: laminate, vinyl planks/tiles, PVC tiles, engineered wood, bamboo flooring, and carpet tiles.

• How to Measure: Length × Width = Area in m².
• Accuracy: Measure to the nearest 1cm (0.01m).

Wastage to add:

• Standard Rooms: Add 10%
• Long & Narrow Areas (hallways): Add 15%
• Herringbone or Complex Patterns: Add 20%

2. Products Sold by Running Meters

For broadloom carpets, sheet vinyl, artificial grass, and some rubber flooring.

• How to Measure: Measure the longest length and widest width required.
• Accuracy: Precision is critical — measure to the nearest millimeter.
• Measure into Doorways: Always measure into doorways and under built-in fixtures.
• Check Product Roll Width: Rolls come in specific widths (e.g. 2m, 3m, 3.66m, 4m, 4.2m).
• Calculating Joins: If your room is wider than the roll, calculate total linear meters required factoring in pattern matching.

3. Measuring for Blinds

Essential for Venetian, roller, vertical blinds, and shutters.

• Reveal Fit (Inside Mount): Measure inside width at top, middle, and bottom — use the smallest. Same for height.
• Face Fit (Outside Mount): Measure the window opening plus desired overlap for full coverage.
• Check for Obstructions: Note any handles, latches, tiles, or mouldings that might interfere.
